Well you&#8217;re probably right but nonetheless he&#8217;s making an exclusive seasonal download available to likees of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/moogieman\">moogieman facebook page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The download is a brand new recording of My Origami Christmas tree, a song written last year for a Christmas gig at the Isis Farmhouse.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Moogieman told the story behind the song in a blog entry last December.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nI came across this <a href=\"http:\/\/stephensorigami.blogspot.com\/2010\/12\/origami-christmas-tree-tutorial.html\" target=\"_blank\">design<\/a> while doing research for my work Christmas tree competition. We ended up building a white 6-tier version plus trunk topped with a small stellated dodecahedron. The whole thing is about 80 cm high.<\/p>\n<p>While folding one of the tiers I had the idea of writing a song <!--more--> called My Origami Christmas Tree, set in Japan, about a lonely <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2006\/01\/15\/magazine\/15japanese.html?pagewanted=all\" target=\"_blank\">hikikomori<\/a> creating an origami coniferous forest in his tiny one-room flat. The story is based partially on a real-life character, Wataru Ito, who <a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/worldnews\/asia\/japan\/5794258\/Origami-city-model-crafted-entirely-from-paper.html\" target=\"_blank\">built an entire model city using a knife, glue and craft paper<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, I&#8217;ve also attempted to bring in more general aspects of Christmas in Japan and inject a modicum of romance.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Anyone who wants to get hold of the track just has to &#8216;like&#8217; the facebook page before 26 December and you&#8217;ll be sent a link to the song&#8217;s bandcamp page along with a code to enter.
