Sad news this weekend: Fuji is discontinuing Provia 400X. The Japanese film manufacturer is also cutting Neopan 400 black and white film from its range.

The news originated from Freestyle Photographic Supplies, who posted up a marketing announcment from Fuji on their Facebook page.

Provia 400X was the only E6 colour reversal film left with an ISO over 100, which made it particularly useful in Lomo cameras such as Holgas and Dianas with limited aperture control. (more…)

Check out some early colour film, isn’t it beautiful?

This is some of the earliest colour movie footage. It was scanned recently and put on YouTube by Kodak, who created it as a test clip in 1922. That’s 13 years before the first full-length colour feature film, Becky Sharp.

The film was produced using the two-colour Kodakchrome process. (more…)
