New Doppelganger EP releases on 21 November

All Will Be Well Records has announced the release of a new Mooogieman EP on 21 November. Doppelganger consists of four tracks recorded together at Moogie Studios with the valuable production assistance of All Will Be Well’s Stefano Maio.

The release is driven by more instrospective, abstract themes than last year’s Girls And Film album, from the title track that was penned in response to Shan Sriharan’s (aka Moogieman) concerns about reports (more…)

Moogieman’s Red Xmas EP was released today on bandcamp and as CD, available in the Truck Store, Oxford. A launch gig will take place early this evening in the Truck Store.

The CD comes in a handmade red felt sleeve and is part of a Christmas project that will see a track made available online on each of the 12 days of Christmas, starting 25 December.

Containing 12.5% of the forthcoming Girls And Film Album – that’s 3 songs out of the planned 24, plus an extra track that isn’t related to photography – the new EP serves as an amuse bouche for those keen to get a taste of the new Moogieman sound. It’s available at Bandcamp or on CD. Copies will be on sale at the next gig: 15 October at the Library, 4pm for Oxjam.

That difficult first album – it all gets off to a great start, ideas flow and you’re feeling musically inspired. But then life gets in the way, your open reel 8 track breaks down, you’re not happy with your mechanical reverb options so you have to build a plate device, the album concept is film photography so you need 24 tracks. Where next for the moogosphere?

First of all, apologies for the lack of updates recently. That’s been partly due to a late summer break in Napoli (‘O fair, false city, thou gay and gilded harlot!’) but mainly due to being buried away, recording my forthcoming Extended EP (the E2P).

The good news is that most of the work is done, with just vocals and the odd guitar and keyboard line left to do before mixing can commence. (more…)
