What’s new in the moogosphere?

25 November 2015

So, we’ve been pretty quiet at the Moogiemedia offices for a while. Behind the scenes, however, there’s been a flurry of activity.

The P.O.P. EP, released on CD at the Klub Kakofanney gig in summer, is now available for download on Bandcamp.

Mainly, though, there’s been lots of work on a new album. It has a photography theme (the planned title is Girls And Film) and is due to be released in Spring 2016. Read the rest of this entry »

MATM prepare to play Klub Kakofanney

30 June 2015

Final preparations are underway for the Klub Kakofanney gig at the Wheatsheaf on Friday 3 July.

It has now become customary to play some new songs and feature a new instrument at each Moogieman And The Masochists gig and for this one we aim not to disappoint.

We’ll be playing 3 new songs, using one new instrument and Vincent Lynch will be playing some guitar for the first time. To put the icing on the cake, advance copies of our new P.O.P. EP will be available on the night.

Here’s one of the tracks, which will be played at the gig.

Fruit EP release for 28 March Wheatsheaf gig

28 March 2015

The new Moogieman EP will be available in cassette and digital download formats on Saturday at the Gappy Tooth Industries gig at the Wheatsheaf, and also on Bandcamp.

The EP has been specially mastered for tape and recorded on custom length purple cassette blanks, with printed label and insert.

It includes the songs Pomegranate, Ice Cream Van, Cold Cucumber Soup and ISON, all of which will be performed at the gig.

Strap in with the Masochists for their next gig

Here’s some snippets of the last MATM rehearsal, as they feverishly prepare for their Gappy Tooth Gig on Saturday 28 March at the Wheatsheaf.

MATM to play 28 March Gappy Tooth gig

2 March 2015

MATM play Gappy Tooth on Sat 28 March

Moogieman And The Masochists are proud to announce our forthcoming gig at the Wheatsheaf under the auspices of Gappy Tooth Industries.

Last month Gappy Tooth celebrated their 100th show, and over the years they’ve built up a considerable reputation as one of Oxford’s most interesting, elclectic and horizon-expanding gig nights.

That means the other acts on Sat 28 March, Indica Blues and Bromide won’t be anything like MATM, but will definitely be worth seeing.

STOP PRESS: Advance copies of the forthcoming Fruit download and cassette EP will now be available for the gig.

A cosmic coincidence: Clonque, the Conference of Wargamers and the Cowley Road Carnival

23 October 2014

Releasing the new video for Marine Peilstand Drei (MP3), I’m reminded that just over a year ago I received correspondence from a contributor to the Nugget, online magazine of Wargame Developments, asking if he could reproduce the lyrics to Marine Peilstand Drei (MP3) as part of an article.

I was deeply honoured to receive this unexpected request, but more than a little intrigued. However, the connection soon became clear. Read the rest of this entry »

What’s new in the moogosphere?

14 October 2014

Things have been quiet here at moogieman.com but there has in fact been quite a lot going on. First of all I’ve managed to produce the first live video from the EP launch gig at the Albion Beatnik back in July, so here I am with the Masochists playing When We Vicariously Touch.

Next, I’ve been editing a brand new video for Marine Peilstand Drei (MP3). Read the rest of this entry »
