Moogieman - Extended EP cover

The Moogiemedia team is pleased to announce that after many months of hard studio work, several months of deliberation and a few months of indecision (not necessarily in that order) the Extended EP (E2P) will be released on 3 July.

The occasion will be marked with a launch gig at the Albion Beatnik Bookstore Read the rest of this entry »

The economy of love, stupid!

14 April 2014

The first ‘proper’ Moogieman video, with actors and everything (provided, mainly, by courtesey of Awkward Actors).

The song is Economy Of Love, the first track on the forthcoming Extended EP (E2P).

The good the bad and the complicated

17 March 2014

The moogiemedia team is excited to announce the release of a brand new single with accompanying video …

The recording was made on analogue tape, giving the percussion a pleasing crunch and also used a spring reverb liberated from an old guitar amp to give that (economy) vintage feel.

You can download the track from Bandcamp.

Comet that ‘failed to shine’ lights up Oxford

7 March 2014

Here’s some photos of the ISON exhibition I took part in at the end of last year, put on by local artist Mark James. Rather than taking part musically, this was actually the first time I’ve exhibited my photos – a modest display of 12 of my lomographic efforts.

Last chance to get the Moogieman Xmas CD single

19 December 2013

There are a few copies left of the Moogieman CD single, My Origami Christmas Tree. There will be a chance to pick one up tonight at Catweazle, or over the next few days.

The single comes wrapped in an origami cover and includes a DIY kit to make your own origami Christmas tree with high quality Japanese paper.

Moogieman and the Masochists: we have lift off

3 December 2013

The new Moogieman band played a short but arresting set at George’s Jamboree last night. Alongside Vincent Lynch on electric drums, the Masochists include Claire LeMaster on keyboard. We should hopefully see some full-length Moogieman and the Masochists gigs early in the new year.

The history of the Kaddiska Mu Stellar club part 3

4 November 2013

It was the Catweazle Club’s 19th anniversary recently so here is the next episode in my continuing saga, The history of the Kaddiska Mu-Stellar Club (see also The history of the Kaddiska Mu-Stellar Club: Part 2).

In the last few years it has become something of a tradition (albeit a tradition invented and observed by me alone) to recount excerpts from the history of the Kaddiska Mu Stellar Club, an open mic on the planet Oxford in the Sopdet binary star system. Read the rest of this entry »

Where next for the moogosphere?

22 October 2013

First of all, apologies for the lack of updates recently. That’s been partly due to a late summer break in Napoli (‘O fair, false city, thou gay and gilded harlot!’) but mainly due to being buried away, recording my forthcoming Extended EP (the E2P).

The good news is that most of the work is done, with just vocals and the odd guitar and keyboard line left to do before mixing can commence. Read the rest of this entry »

The mystery of the peacherine

25 July 2013

Rarely does this site delve into genetics, not least because of the total lack of any qualifications in that area among the Moogiemedia team. However, an intriguing series of events, leading to a most illuminating office discussion, has persuaded me to extemporise on the matter.

It all started when I found a peach on the work minibus. I say ‘peach’ but it was relatively hairless for a peach, yet not so hairless that it was obviously a nectarine. Read the rest of this entry »
